What is solution?
Solution is yoga which provides holistic development of an individual. Let’s learn about yoga nidra that helps us to keep us mentally healthy.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga nidra is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” stage, typically induced by a guided meditation.
There is evidence that yoga nidra helps to relieve stress. It has been applied by the US Army to assist soldiers to recover from post-traumatic disorder.
In modern times, Swami Satyananda Saraswati claimed to have experienced yoga nidra when he was living with his guru Swami Sivananda Saraswati in Rishikesh. He began studying the tantric scriptures and, after practice, constructed a system of relaxation which he popularized in the mid-20th century. He explained yoga nidra as a state of mind between wakefulness and sleep that opened deep phases of the mind. The form of practice taught by Swami Satyananda Saraswati includes eight stages (internalisation, sankalpa, rotation of consciousness, breath awareness, and manifestation of opposites, creative visualization, sankalpa and externalisation).

As we become aware of the different parts of the body, relaxation is much more natural and effective. But when we sleep, everything shuts down, including the awareness, and so relaxation remains incomplete somewhere and feel lethargic and tired in the morning as though they hadn’t slept at all. If we start doing yoga nidra meditations we will feel relax like never before. Daily dose of yoga nidra not only charges our body, but also calms our mind. We can work better with a clear and focused mind.
Often our emotional and mental patterns would continue from the previous day. But as we experience yoga nidra, these patterns erase after a few session. It is as if someone pressed the refresh button.
